Ann Daunte Takes The Cake

From time to time a few punny bits wander into the music I write, or so it seems to me; not everyone may get them, or want to. Sonic humor is, after all, stuck in the ears of the beholder.

This particular composition was triggered by the middle movement of Stan Stewart's Fugue and Fantasy, which is named What's Your Posse Call Ya? and could be said to be in the form of a chaconne.

Dan Walker's cakewalk Ebony Echoes, published in 1915, provided the basis for what might be considered a loose de-rangement.

The recording was realized by the Steinberg Dorico Piano played by Minnie McApil.
